Wild Turkeys making a pilgrimage somewhere over Stick Ross Mountain. There were 4 separate flocks throughout the day and they all took the same path over the mountain.
OUTDOOR/NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY
If I weren't such a boring workaholic and perfectly self-entertained in my studio, I'd be doing much more nature photography. I'm fortunate to live in a part of Oklahoma that has quite a bit of wildlife. Deer, Turkeys, Hawks, Owl, Racoons, Groundhogs, Skunks and more are some of the regulars here in the evening, during certain seasons. I love sitting on my front porch at night, watching the shadowy figures of deer grazing as they move across the lawn.
One of my favorite adventures was going to the Buffalo River, in Arkansas. We headed out in the middle of the night and got there when it was still pitch black about 3 1/2 hours later. We made it just in time to see the soft morning light, illuminating these monstrous bluffs that I had know idea were right in front of me. It looked like gallons of paint had been poured over the edge.
